Alkyl glucoside, as a new non-ionic surfactant, has the advantages of low surface tension, fine foam, rich and stable, strong detergency and strong compatibility. The product is non-toxic, non irritating and biodegradable, so it can be widely used in detergents, detergents, cosmetics, food and medicine.

There are two methods for the synthesis of alkyl glycosides: one is a one-step method, including the reaction steps, neutralization steps and vacuum distillation steps of sugar and high-carbon fatty alcohol under the action of acid catalyst; the other is a two-step method, including the reaction steps of sugar and low-carbon fatty alcohol under the action of acid catalyst, the alcohol exchange reaction steps, neutralization steps, vacuum distillation or superheated water of high-carbon alcohol and the above reaction liquid Steam distillation for alcohol removal. No matter which method has a common problem, that is, color deterioration in the production process. The color deterioration is due to the presence of some unstable substances in the reaction solution of synthetic glycosides, which change color at 160 ℃ or higher in the process of alcohol removal by distillation. The commercial alkyl glycosides must remove the excess fatty alcohol as much as possible, which forms a pair of contradictions, that is, they should not only fully evaporate the excess fatty alcohol, but also raise the temperature. Therefore, how to reduce the alcohol content and keep a good color at the same time has become the focus of the alkyl glycoside manufacturers and heavy multi scientists.

We have found that the main causes of color deterioration are sugar and acid substances, which are strong polar substances. If these ingredients can be removed before high-temperature distillation and alcohol removal, then we can get fully colorless high-quality products.
