Flame retardant should be commonly used on fabrics that can not be cleaned frequently

This method is really simple, but as long as the fabric is washed, it will lose the flame retardancy immediately. It should be used on the fabric that can not be cleaned frequently.

Chemical polymerization or polycondensation is used to form a polymer which is insoluble in water and other solvents, or insoluble substances such as latex and resin are used to adhere to the fiber. The fabric treated in this way will not make the flame retardant invalid after many times of cleaning.

Generally speaking, the price of fabrics with longer flame retardancy will be relatively expensive. Therefore, when users choose fabric types, they can purchase them in combination with some specific situations.

There are a lot of fabrics in order to meet a certain demand to suppress combustion, flame retardant will be added into the fabric. But many people will find that the fabric will fade seriously before long. What is the reason?

1. After a long time of washing and sun drying, the dyes on the flame retardant fabric will photolysis and aging, which will directly cause fading.

2. The dye molecules on the fabric undergo oxidation or reduction reaction, which leads to fading. For example, the fading of cotton fabric dyed with azo dyes is due to oxidation, while that of protein fiber fabric dyed with the same dye is due to reduction.

3. The structure of dye molecules also has a great influence on the color fading. If the stability of dye molecules is poor, the hydrogen atom with strong reaction ability can promote the oxidation process.
