High molecular weight polymer surfactant
2022-11-09 16:09:43

In the treatment and recovery of ceramic industrial wastewater, such as slurry and glaze slurry wastewater, precipitators or flocculants are often added. Contrary to dispersant, it can promote the destabilization and aggregation of colloidal system, so as to improve the dehydration of mud and grouting efficiency.

The molecular weight of polymer surfactant is large, and there are enough reaction points or active points on the molecular chain. It plays the role of bonding and bridging between two particles that are far away from each other, making the particles gradually larger. It combines with the particles in various forms to form a hard aggregate and flocculate. Its mechanism is as follows: ① neutralize the surface charge of colloidal particles; ② Some chain segments are embedded on the surface of particles; ③ Crosslinking or sensitization and bridging; ④ The polymer chain forms a tangled network to capture particles.

Common surfactants (flocculants) include sodium laurate, sodium stearate, dodecyl aminoacetic acid, octadecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, etc. Cationic surfactant can also play a significant role in the treatment of wastewater. The application of surfactant in ceramic industry involves the theories of material science, colloid chemistry and surface chemistry. Therefore, it is necessary to study the effect of surfactant on ceramic matrix materials, the sintering and eutectic properties of ceramic matrix materials, and the influence of residual components on product performance.

When the surfactant is used as a grinding aid, it should have good selectivity, be able to adjust the viscosity of the slurry, have strong resistance to Ca2+and Mg2+, and be not easily affected by pH, etc. It should be noted that different powder materials, such as aluminum oxide, quartz, limestone, have different surface state, hardness and other properties. As a dispersant of ceramic slurry, attention should be paid to the influence of such factors as the surface state of ceramic particles, electric charge, pH value of slurry on the stability of slurry. Therefore, suitable surfactants should be selected according to different functions and requirements of the molding process, and new green and high-performance surfactants should be continuously developed. It is believed that, with the deepening of research and the development of science and technology, the special structure and function of surfactants will play a greater role in the ceramic industry.
